Sustainable relationships bloom in the field and in the kitchen. The Adobe Lodge’s Director and Executive Chef, Tiana Driggins, learns first-hand the care and concern our local farm to fork provider, Marsha Habib (of Oya Organics) puts into her harvest. Oya Organics provides the Santa Clara University campus with a wide variety of fresh, seasonal produce.

Farmer Name: Marsha Habib

Farm Name: Oya Organics

Location: Hollister, CA

What They Produce: tomatoes, peppers, corn, beans, squash, cucumbers, lettuces, root crops, herbs, flowers, melons, strawberries, chickens and eggs

What We Love About Them: Marsha provides us with great local produce. She brings a delicious variety of organic produce that we are able to source straight from the farm.  Plus she is a willing partner for sharing her story and engaging with our guests.

What They Like About Us: The direct farm to school relationship with Santa Clara University is incredibly helpful. We can plan our crop plantings and forecast to make investments, knowing that we are delivering our harvest to SCU—over 2,000 lbs. per week during fall quarter—this HUGE for a beginning farmer. Of course it is also fun to participate in events and bring our produce to campus for farmer’s markets.
